Hi! Thank you for “dropping by”! I hope you’re having a great time getting creative :) Whether that is digitally, traditionally or a mix of both :)
I’ve been catching up scrapping some photos I took on a trip to Dumfries and Galloway some years back, not long after I got my first digital camera. It was a dull, quite wet, week of camping!
My idea was to create a dramatic but simple layout, letting the photos do the talking!
In order to create some drama with my photos I blended them, with a paper I’d created from another photo some time back. Each individual blended photo layout was finished off by adding place details in a word art style.
To finish I added the three blended photos to my final layout leaving a space to add the overall place information. Using the textured blend paper as a backing for the word art was a perfect way to display this in the final square.
You can see how I created my dramatic photos and layout in the creativity sheets below. Click on them to display the images larger as a slide show.
The combination of the three photos with their different styles, combined with the simplicity of the word art and layout creates a simple but dramatic overall effect.
I’d love to see what you’ve been creating, so don’t be shy, leave me a comment and link to your layout in comments below :)

I’ll be back soon with my next article and until then have fun, bye for now, Natasha :)
Wonderful simple but striking effects Natasha.
As you say, the photos speak for themselves – and that’s really all a great photo needs – and yours are great! Thanks for technique info.
Feeling quite inspired now :)
Thank you :)
